I'm as free as a bird now

At least I am for Tuesday.

I'm supposed to be job hunting, but I have the sneaky suspicion I'll end up doing one of these things:

1) Playstation.
2) Electronics
3) Furious self abuse
4) Inter-nerd surfing

Infact, my day could be any combination of those things, interspersed with copius tea consumption, and grumbling about not having a good job, but yet not properly getting off my arse to get one.

Viz

When my copy of Viz plops on the doormat, I feel my connection to the sceptered isle strengthen a little bit. I feel this partly because no one here gets it, at all! It's my own little private, dirty joke

This months issue there was a made up letters page dedicated to the painting that Rolf Harris did of the queen. I had no idea he'd even taken up such a daunting task. But after reading the article, I'd picked up all the nations consensus on the painting, plus it made me laugh.

Here are some of the abridged comments.

"The painting was good, I'm just disapointed that he didn't sign the corner with a rolfaroo. That's my favourite part of all of his paintings"

"the queen must have bigger boobs than that. He should have consulted someone who's seen them, like Prince Phillip or that man that broke into the palace and sat on her bed"

"maybe Rolf Harris got the mouth perfectly, its just everyone else who's ever took a picture or painted her that's got it wrong"

"If Rolf wasn't confident painting her mouth, he should have painted her reading a newspaper, so that you could only see her from the nose up"

You should all go out and buy a copy, and then read the letters page, and report back how you fell about laughing.

Synergy

I've applied for a couple of jobs, I hope I at least get a nice email saying, "I'm sorry, but we just think you're a tosser" There is nothing worse than applying for a million jobs and not hearing back from any of them.

I ve applied to be a receptionist at a spa. Am I cut out for that? No, absolutely not.

Hopefully the job as receptionist for a kitchen counter top company will go my way. I've always had a penchant for grouting and laminates.
I've even studied up on the three main materials this company uses for its surfaces.

Ask me about Zodiaq or Corian, I dare you! My wife did, and she was amazed at what I could retain for a job I had never dreamed of doing.

Money talks. If I get an interview, I am going to mention the word synergy. My foot is practically in the door.
