Pay day is the best day of all

The count down to Friday is ON! slow, but ON!

I hope they do something nice for me, like offer to pay for all my ebay junk, or buy me a guitar.

Now, I know it isn't realistic to hope for those things, but it is helping the slow work days go by faster. I've been staring into space, dreaming that they turn up with a Gretsch country gentleman jr, and say: Here you go Steve. Thanks for all of your hard work. But I am more likely to get a handshake or a hug. Boo to that!

I am then off on my summer holiday! Mandy and I are having 4 days in Carson City, NV. Mandy thinks it's awesome because she gets to spend some time with her family there, I think its awesome because there are a ton of pawn shops. Maybe I will find that gretsch country gent I have pined for.

I wasted my weekend

My wife went away on friday night to visit her sister. I had the entire place to myself to get all my junk finished up and start some new junk. What did I do? I sat on the internerd, all day and all night.

It's not all bad, I won a couple of things on Ebay for once. I've decided the best way to win stuff is to bin on undisirable objects that no one wants. I myself have little use for these items, but its the taking part that counts.

My boss took my leaving a little too well, but I suppose I shouldn't be too upset because I did lie to him and I used company resources to get the job. The first thing he told me was that he was going to be training someone else up for another store, but now they would have to travel to this one instead. Charming I thought. He asked me if money was an issue. I answered no, survey says "YES".

Here's what I should have said: "the money is a bit of an issue. But the main issue is the customers are tossers, and the people I work with make me want to get castrated."

as promised, pictures are coming. Hide your children

New job, New danger!

I'd been keeping it a bit quiet (!) but my current job is a bit shit. And secretly I've been yearning for something else.

So I applied at a law firm as an Administrative Assistant. What does that mean? Donkey work mostly, but I can walk to walk in less than 5 minutes, and I can see my office from my balcony.

The company specialises in being defense attorneys for insurance companies and Cities. Like if someone was suing Telford, Phil Homer (or whoever) would call us. The rest of the stuff is all Mesothelioma/Asbestosis defense.

Ethically, I have a bit of a problem with that. I edited a documentary about Mesothelioma, so batting for the other team seems a bit odd.

Money is better, prospects are better. I can't rent a nice apartment or buy a new car. Infact I'm not going to see any monetarial benefit! But this is definitely a step in the right direction.

I get health insurance, life insurance, child care benefits, pension. The full monty. and more importantly, a professional environment!

So, I am now going to hand in my notice. I have a feeling the shit is going to hit fan. I am going to take pictures of the people I work with, so you can see what I've been up against.

sadie lane: Redux

Looks like the furry footwarmer needs to be dog sat again!

The wedding present we bought for my sister-in-law, who the dog belongs to, was a rug for the kitchen. We found out that Sadie has eaten the rug. Or at least parts of the rug.

I have to agree with the dog on this one, a sage green rug just wasn't doing it for me.

And no jokes about me dog sitting for a carpet munching dog.

The work situation is escalating. The only joy I get is when people chat to me about the world cup. The post man, Carlos, tried to argue with me saying that there was civil unrest in Trinidad and Tobago. I kept telling him it was the Ivory coast, or wherever, but he wasn't having it.
Also a lady came in who told me that she was actually going to the world cup. She works in the marketing department for Yahoo! She kept asking if I saw any of the "Wafer" cup games. I think she meant UEFA cup.

Smile and nod, steve, smile and nod.
